Sanchez takes Gold at World Cup TT in Spain

Defending Paralympic Time Trial Gold Medalist, Oz Sanchez (San Diego, CA), claimed another victory in the H4 class,  in Sunday's 21km time trial in Segovia, Spain. Sanchez posted a time of 30:30.8, over a minute ahead of 2nd place Norbert Mosandl of Germany, who was just one second of head of the South African, Ernst Van Dyk.

The win came just two days after a bronze medal in the road race. Both results firmly cement the American's chances for medals at the 2010 World Championships in Canada, but Sanchez will have the added pressure of being undefeated in the "race of truth."

Sanchez is an automatic for the World Championship team who will compete in Canada, with four more handcycle spots (3 male, 1 female) up for grabs next week in Bend, OR.
